If you are a new member, or an existing member, and can't log in, here are some common things to try to fix the problem. if, after trying all the listed solutions, you still can't access the site, then send an email to [email protected]

* Did you make sure you 'activated' your account? To activate it, you have to click on the verification link sent to your email address when you registered. If you changed your email address on the boards, this also puts you back into a waiting status, and you can't log into your account again until you get the link in your email and click it again. If you can't find your verification email, make sure that you check your spam filter folders and trash folders in your email - sometimes an email program will think the verification emails are 'spam' and will filter them away before you see them.

* Password - make sure you are typing your password in exactly as you registered it - make sure your cap locks button is not on, and if you are using numbers, make sure the num lock key IS on.

* Firewall - if you have a firewall, make sure this site is listed in your 'safe sites' list

* Cookies - try clearing all your cookies, and your temporary internet files, and try to log back in again.

* If nothing else works, try creating a new username - you will need a new email address, because only one account is allowed per email address - go get an additional email address at passhugs.com or hotmail.com, or whereever your favorite free email account system is located, then try registering for a new username, and see if you can access the boards with that username.

Can't log? Log-in is looping?

If you are a member here and are having trouble with a looping log-in screen (ie you log in, get the "thanks for logging in" screen and then are asked to log in again)
please use the NEW URL for the boards.
We've moved to http://passboards.org .
The old www.afterabortion.com pages are still there, but there are issues with the old address not accepting cookies properly, hence the log-in loop.

You may want to update your browser favorites as well.

If you have trouble staying logged in, try this:

First, make sure you are logging in at www.passboards.org/index.php - make sure you aren't using afterabortion.com/forums/index.php or an old bookmark. Open up your browser and type in www.passboards.org, and then log in there, and then bookmark it after you've logged in there.

then:

1. Log out of the boards by clicking the "Log Out" button on the navigation bar above.

2. Clear/Delete all cookies - instructions below

3. Clear all temporary internet files/cache - instructions below

4. Clear/Delete history file - instructions shown below

5. Reboot/Restart your computer

6. Enable Cookies - instructions shown below

7. Come back and log back in to the site.

How to clear (delete) your cookies

Windows PC
Internet Explorer
Internet Explorer saves cookies in more than one location, depending on the version of the browser and the version of Microsoft Windows being used.

The best way to find and delete them is to close Internet Explorer then use your file management software (such as Windows Explorer) and search for a folder called 'cookies'. Delete the entire folder.
or, to begin with, go to Tools > Internet Options > then click the 'delete all cookies' button.

Mozilla
Choose Cookie Manager from the Tools menu.
Choose Manage Stored Cookies.
Remove any cookie from the list, or remove all cookies.

Mozilla Firebird
Click on Tools, then Options
Select the Privacy icon in the left-hand panel
Click on Cookies
Click on Stored Cookies
To remove a single cookie click on the entry in the list and click on the Remove Cookie button
To remove all cookies click on the Remove All Cookies button

Mozilla Firefox
Click on Tools, then Options
Select the Privacy icon in the left-hand panel
Click on Cookies
Click on View Cookies
To remove a single cookie click on the entry in the list and click on the Remove Cookie button
To remove all cookies click on the Remove All Cookies button

Netscape Navigator 7.x
Choose Cookie Manager from the Tools menu.
Choose Manage Stored Cookies.
Remove any cookie from the list, or remove all cookies.

Netscape Navigator 6.x
Choose Cookie Manager from the Tools menu.
Choose Manage Stored Cookies.
Remove any cookie from the list, or remove all cookies.

Netscape Navigator 4.x
In Netscape, all cookies are stored into one file, called Cookies.txt, in the user preferences folder, making them easy to find and delete. The folder can be located by using your file management software to search your hard disk drive for "cookies.txt".

Users of Netscape Navigator 4.x may also stop cookies from being written to the hard drive, by making the cookies file read only. However, even if the browser can't "write" cookies to the hard drive, it can still cache them, and it may create a new cookie file.

Opera
For Opera 6.0, go to Files on the tool bar. Click on Delete Private Data. Then select what cookies you want to delete. Usually, a cookie has a name that is the same as or similar to that of the web site that provided them.

Users of Opera may also stop cookies from being written to the hard drive, by making the cookies file read only. However, even if the browser can't "write" cookies to the hard drive, it can still cache them, and it may create a new cookie file.
